Night swimming party

The Ackley Municipal Swimming Pool is hosting a night swim on Friday from 8-10 p.m. The cost to participate is $4 per person, with proceeds going towards the overall renovation of the pool. Glow necklaces will be available for purchase, as well as drinks and snacks.

Cadet kick-off

The second annual Cadet Kickoff will be held Friday at Iowa Falls-Alden High School. The event will begin at 5 p.m. with a voluntary donation, followed by a performance by the dance team and introductions from players in volleyball, football, dance, cross country and cheerleading. The volleyball team will hold an inter-team scrimmage starting at 6:30 p.m.

Tractor squad

On Saturday, the Hardin County Farm Museum will host a pancake breakfast from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., with voluntary donations accepted. After breakfast, the 20th annual Greenbelt Tractorcade will begin at 10:00 a.m. The tractors will travel from Eldora to Eagle City, then finish the ride in Owasa for lunch.

Jeep Jam

Happenings in Steamboat Rock is hosting a Jeep cruise on Saturday. You'll start in Steamboat and then travel to Eldora (Firehouse), Hubbard (Kelsey's Pub), Alden (Westside), Ackley (Prairie Bridges/Crazy Acres/Goat Barn) and then back to Happenings. There will be hand-breaded filets from Fattees and live music from the Craig Swalwell Blues Band. The bar opens at 11am and the cruise begins at noon.

Summer Vibes Series

Wildcat Distilling Company in Webster City is hosting its Summer Vibes Series on Saturday from 7-10 p.m. The event will feature Kriss Karr and will also be a Cat Hut fundraiser for Black Cat Day. There will be specialty drinks, tarot cards, snacks and more.
