Pikachu and other Pokémon are the stars in the new safety video from ANA!【Videos】

Please return your backrest to the upright position for takeoffs and landings, Lucario.

In the modern age of air travel, there is a safety video to watch before every flight. Yes, it is important information and even experienced travelers should always take a moment to re-familiarize themselves with it, but it is hard to silence that little voice in your head that says, “Man, this is boring… I would much rather watch Pokemon.”

Fortunately, there is an airline that understands this, and now ANA has released a brand new safety video featuring Pikachu and a whole host of other pocket monsters.

In fact, ANA has two new Pokémon videosof which the first, visible above, is a “Video of disembarkation”, features a woman and her travel companion Pikachu arriving at Haneda Airport in Tokyo, becoming separated, and then emotionally reuniting with the help of ANA ground staff.

▼ However, if you have to get lost in an airport, Haneda is a good airport to do so because at least there are plenty of delicious things to eat there.

As enchantingly heartwarming as the disembarkation video may be, what you should really pay attention to is the bilingual English/Japanese ANA Pokémon safety video.

Pretty much everything covered in the video has been standard protocol for air travel for some time, but the point of safety videos is primarily to remind you of the instructions, as some of them can be easily forgotten in the excitement and/or stress of travel, while others are potentially life-saving actions that need to be performed without much delay in the event of an emergency.

▼ Jigglypuff looks at the guy a little annoyed about this stunt.

▼ The image of Pokémon preparing for impact is a little surreal…

▼ …but Pikachu and Pichu are understandably happy that ANA takes its safety measures seriously.

And because ANA knows that no single video can cover all situations, the airline and Psyduck remind travelers that they can always ask a flight attendant if they have further concerns or need assistance..

If you are reading SoraNews24, you probably believe that “the more Pokémon, the better” when it comes to safety and public communication. Unfortunately, the Pokémon safety videos are currently not shown on all ANA flights, but only on the flights of the specially decorated Pikachu and Eevee Jets for selected international flights between Japan's Haneda and Narita airports and Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Canada and Hawaii.

However, given the franchise's global popularity, it wouldn't be a huge surprise if ANA eventually decided to show the Pokémon safety video on other flights. In the meantime, however, the airline has made the video available online and the information is not aircraft-specific, so no matter where you're flying to, you'll always have the option to watch it yourself as a refresher.
