STARK COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – The 26-year-old Plain Township man accused of killing his partner pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Friday morning.

Sean Goe was charged Wednesday with murder, burglary, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence, grand theft (when the weapon is a dangerous object) and gross desecration of a corpse in connection with the death of 24-year-old Raychel Sheridan.

According to a 911 call, Sheridan's body was found wrapped in plastic in a trash can in a Canton park on July 3.

The 911 call was made by a Canton Parks Department employee after finding the body while disposing of trash at Mother Goose Land in the 400 block of Schroyer Avenue SW.

Stark County Sheriff's officers were called to Sheridan and Goe's residence in the 4100 block of Orchard Dale Drive NW around 12:30 p.m. on July 2 after Sheridan's mother requested a welfare check.

Sheriff Maier said the apartment door was open and no one was inside, but because the crime scene was “suspicious,” officers requested a search warrant.

While waiting for the search warrant, officers said they saw a maroon Jeep Liberty, believed to be registered to Sheridan, driving on Guilford Avenue NW.

The driver, identified as Goe, fled on foot into a dense wooded area after being stopped, officials said.

After an hours-long search, Goe was arrested early the next morning.

Sheriff Maier added that the murder likely occurred in the couple's apartment, but the cause of death was unknown.

Deputies said Goe also had warrants for his arrest for burglary, grand theft of a firearm and domestic violence.

According to court documents, Goe stole a gun from a North Canton home in April and physically threatened Sheridan and cut holes in her tires in May.

Goe will appear in court again on August 26.
