Gates man arrested after shooting at gas station

Gates, NY – A felon faces charges after allegedly shooting at a vehicle stopped in traffic last week.

Police responded to a report that a man shot at a car at the corner of Long Pond and Spencerport Road in Gates around 5:50 p.m. on August 8.

Officers learned that the suspect fired several shots at the vehicle with a handgun without hitting anyone before getting into the vehicle and driving away.

Authorities executed a search warrant on a home on Ford Avenue in Gates on Thursday and took 34-year-old Christopher Moore into custody.

During the search, the police said they found money and cocaine.

Moore is charged with attempted first-degree assault, second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and first-degree reckless endangerment.

According to police, Moore is being held in the Monroe County Jail without bail because he was previously convicted of illegal possession of weapons (September 2015) and tampering with evidence (June 2013).
