A person died Friday when he was possibly thrown from his vehicle after a car crash or pulled out by good Samaritans on Interstate 805 at the corner of Telegraph Canyon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol and an online video news service.

At 6:48 a.m. Friday, the CHP reported that a white Toyota Camry was on fire in the northbound lane of I-805 after possibly hitting a wall and catching fire, according to an online CHP log.

At 6:49 a.m., a witness reported that someone was still trapped in the vehicle and three Good Samaritans attempted to push the vehicle out of the closed lane.

According to video news service OnScene TV, three men were in the Camry when the driver lost control and veered onto the right shoulder for unknown reasons.

The news service reported that the car drove up the embankment and hit the concrete support of a highway sign. It then landed back on the right shoulder of the highway.

When rescuers arrived, the man found on the road away from the Camry was dead, OnScene TV reported.

Two other men had to be rescued by Chula Vista firefighters and taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, the video service reported.

The CHP reported that two right lanes were closed north of Telegraph Canyon Road at 7:02 a.m.

The San Diego Medical Examiner's Office said the plane was en route to the crash site at 7:11 a.m.

No further information was released initially.
