Over 100 illegal Israeli settlers attack West Bank town, killing 1 Palestinian

More than 100 illegal Israeli settlers have attacked a Palestinian town in the occupied West Bank, killing one person and setting fire to a house and several vehicles, several sources reported.

According to witnesses, the settlers stormed the town of Jit, which is located on the main road between Nablus and Qalqilya.

The attackers opened fire on residents, threw stones at houses and set fire to at least one house and several vehicles, they added.

The witnesses also said that Israeli forces provided protection to the illegal settlers and prevented Palestinian civil defense vehicles from entering the city.

Citing an Israeli security source, Israeli Army Radio reported that more than 100 settlers stormed the town.

The source said the settlers set fire to four houses and six vehicles owned by Palestinians, while also throwing stones and Molotov cocktails at the residents and their property.

“The incident ended without arrests, but several Palestinians suffered poisoning from tear gas” fired by Israeli soldiers, it said.
