Braves' Jorge Soler receives update on crucial injury

Jorge Soler is back with the Atlanta Braves and will once again try to help them make a deep playoff run. But the 32-year-old slugger is dealing with a hamstring strain that, while it won't cost him the rest of the season, will likely force him to sit out a few games.

Michael Harris II is back in action after a hamstring injury, but the Braves are still missing another key player. Fortunately, Soler's participation will be determined on a day-to-day basis, according to the MLB injury updates page.

The MLB injury page states: “Soler received good news Thursday when an MRI scan revealed only a mild strain in his left thigh. The outfielder will sit out Friday's series opener in Anaheim, but he believes he could play during this weekend's series against the Angels. Braves manager Brian Snitker may take a more cautious approach and bench Soler until the start of next week's series against the Phillies.”

Jorge Soler wants to strengthen the Braves' outfield in the home stretch of the 2024 season

Soler has picked up where he left off with Atlanta, posting a .978 OPS with 11 RBI in 13 games. He's doing a good job of filling in for reigning MVP Ronald Acuña Jr. and providing momentum on offense.

The Braves have a record of 64-57, good enough to be in the Wild Card round, but still not enough to be on the heels of the Philadelphia Phillies. With a matchup against their division rival coming up, Soler's health is crucial. That's a series the Braves should make sure he's healthy for, especially since there are other injuries to worry about. Giving him a rest against the weak Los Angeles Angels is smart.

Will Soler send high drives to left field that will kill balls? Will the Braves see any monster hits in their quest for another championship? Only time will tell.
