  • A-10C Thunderbolt II of the US Air Force
  • US Marine Corps F-35B Lightning II
  • US Air Force C-17 Globemaster III demo

The 2024 Cleveland National Air Show will be the final air show season for the U.S. Air Force's A-10C Thunderbolt II as the U.S. Air Force prepares to retire the aircraft, organizers said. The A-10 first appeared in Cleveland in 1977 and made 19 appearances at the air show.

This year also sees the first demonstration of the US Marine Corps' F-35B Lightning II. The F-35B replaces the AV-8B Harrier.

“The F-35B is considered one of the most advanced and versatile fighter jets. It will demonstrate unprecedented maneuverability and showcase cutting-edge air power,” say the organizers. “Flying by pilots from Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, this aircraft promises an impressive demonstration that highlights the F-35B's extraordinary potential.”

EVENT HISTORY

“The Cleveland National Air Show has been a Labor Day weekend tradition in northeast Ohio since 1964, attracting 60,000 to 100,000 visitors to Burke Lakefront Airport, making it one of the region's largest annual events,” organizers say.

The air show says it contributes over $7.1 million in economic benefits to the city of Cleveland each year.
