Bradenton drug dealer sentenced to 20 years in federal prison

BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) – Jamal Trevorah of Bradenton was sentenced to 20 years and 8 months in a federal prison for possession of various controlled substances with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.

According to court documents, on the morning of May 4, 2021, Drug Enforcement Administration agents observed Trevorah leaving a motel room in Manatee County with a brown and red shoebox in his hand.

Agents observed Trevorah as he traveled through Manatee County. Trevorah made several stops in the area. Agents suspected the multiple stops were drug transactions in which Trevorah distributed drugs to others.

Trevorah eventually parked in front of a home on 16th Street W. in Bradenton and entered the home through the front door. Officers then executed a search warrant and found Trevorah inside the home. In the same room where Trevorah was first observed, officers found three plastic bags containing white and tan powder.

In the same room, officers also found the red-brown shoebox that Trevorah had with him earlier that day. Inside, officers found several plastic bags containing narcotics.

Laboratory tests confirmed that the drugs were 66 grams of cocaine base, 83 grams of cocaine, 40 grams of methamphetamine and 18 grams of fentanyl.

In a closet in the same room as the drugs, investigators found a loaded American Tactical .45 caliber pistol with eight rounds of ammunition. There were also several cartridges scattered throughout the house.

In the same room, agents also discovered cutting devices, razor blades, scales and white powdery residue, all of which indicate drug trafficking.

Later that afternoon, agents executed a search warrant on the motel room Trevorah had previously left. Agents found a lunchbox in a garbage bag full of clothing. The lunchbox contained approximately $22,540 in cash.
