2 people arrested after toddler taken to hospital with 'significant internal injuries': St. Pete Police

Two people were arrested for child abuse after a two-year-old girl was found with “significant internal injuries.”

St. Petersburg police said 23-year-old Roseshana Smith and 26-year-old Jordan Gatlin were both arrested on charges of aggravated child abuse.

According to investigators, the two-year-old girl was taken to the hospital on Thursday for medical treatment, where she was found to have significant internal injuries and numerous scars that were in various stages of healing.

According to police, Smith and Gatlin were also arrested on child neglect charges in connection with an eight-month-old boy who was also in their care.

Authorities said they would continue to investigate the case.
