One dead in Friday morning crash on Highway 152 West – Salisbury Post

MOORESVILLE – A 21-year-old woman was killed when her Mercedes-Benz was struck by a large truck at an intersection around 11:40 a.m. Friday as she reportedly stopped.

The woman's identity has not been released pending notification of family. The truck driver was reportedly not injured.

According to the witness, who asked not to be identified, the truck was traveling east on 152 behind another vehicle that was turning left onto a gravel road across from Teeter Road. The truck went right around the turning vehicle and struck the Mercedes, which had stopped on Teeter Road waiting to turn onto 152.

The accident caused the west side of the 152 to be closed for more than an hour.

The NC State Highway Patrol was on scene and investigated. They confirmed that the driver of the truck failed to stop when a car slowed to turn. Instead, he veered to the right and struck the Mercedes. The driver of the truck was charged with veering manslaughter and failure to maintain proper lane.
