An accident closes Browns Valley Road on the outskirts of Napa

Updated on Friday at 14:18 A section of Browns Valley Road on the western outskirts of Napa was closed for more than four hours on Friday after a car crash that left people injured, police reported.

In a Facebook post shortly after 8 a.m., Napa police said the Redwood Trail was closed from Browns Valley Road west to Oakville Grade. An exact time for the trail's reopening was unknown.

According to a text alert from Everbridge police, drivers west of the Redwood-Browns Valley intersection were instructed to use Redwood to Mount Veeder Road and Oakville Grade to enter Napa Valley. The road reopened shortly before 12:40 p.m., according to Napa police.

Details of the crash were not immediately available.
