Gasoline prices fall across Tucson, state due to low demand

Gasoline prices fell this week in Arizona and across the country, and weak demand and stable oil prices could lead to further price declines at the pump, according to AAA.

The average price of gasoline across the state fell about 3 cents to $3.46 per gallon of regular gasoline on Friday, down about 2 cents from a week ago, while the national average fell about 2 cents to $3.43 per gallon.

The average price of gasoline in Tucson fell nearly 4 cents week over week to $3.42 per gallon.

In the West Valley in the Phoenix metropolitan area, the state's average gasoline price was lowest at $3.40 per gallon, while in Scottsdale it was highest at $3.58 per gallon.

Demand for gas rose slightly this week but remained relatively stable, and oil prices also weakened after a sharp increase at the beginning of the week, the AAA said.
