The return of Verdansk's Warzone could be delayed again, according to a leak

Warzone players have been eagerly awaiting the rumored return of Verdansk, but new reports suggest the iconic map's comeback could be delayed for a second time.

While nothing has been officially announced yet, it's practically common knowledge that Verdansk is returning to Warzone. But according to BobNetworkUK_, we may have to wait longer than expected to revisit the OG map.

The leaker claimed in an August 15 X-post that the release is currently scheduled alongside Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2 and, based on previous years, will likely arrive in early 2025.

However, they added that the long-awaited return could be “further delayed” as developer Raven Software is “reportedly behind on its project deadlines.”

The OG map was originally expected to be reintroduced alongside the first season of Black Ops 6, which will likely be released around December 2024, as Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson reported in late 2023.

This was followed by news that Verdansk has been delayed until next year, as revealed by BobNetworkUK and confirmed by our own sources. It is now believed that there will be no new battle royale map to kick off Warzone's new chapter.

No reasons were given for the delay at this time, but according to this recent report, it seems like the developers are simply struggling to finish the map in time. Thankfully, ranked play has still been confirmed to be coming to Urzikstan sometime in 2024, which should help bridge the gap and keep the community engaged.

It should be noted that despite numerous reports, this is all based on leaks, as Activision never officially announced that Verdansk is coming back.

While the highly anticipated return of Versansk is still a long way off, Black Ops 6 will still bring plenty of changes to Warzone, from numerous new weapons to a revamped movement system.
