Two people in hospital after rollover accident

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Two people were hospitalized following a rollover crash in Escambia County Friday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 67-year-old man was traveling eastbound on CR-168 in a Ford pickup truck approaching the intersection with Pine Barren Road near Century, Florida.

Another driver, a 34-year-old woman with two passengers (one of them a child) in a Chevrolet SUV, was traveling south on Pine Barren Road approaching CR-168.

The accident report states that the SUV driver failed to observe a stop sign on Pine Barren Road and drove into the intersection.

As a result, the front of the SUV collided with the left side of the pickup truck.

According to FHP, the pickup truck rolled once and came to rest on the south shoulder of CR-168. The SUV eventually came to rest in a ditch at the southeast corner of the intersection.

The driver of the pickup truck was flown by helicopter to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The adult passenger of the SUV was also taken to the hospital to be treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
