Teri Hatcher remembers the infamous and “conjuring” photo of Lois Lane wearing only a cape that went completely viral: “I broke the Internet”

Fans are already looking forward to the upcoming superhero movie Superman next summer Start the DCUBecause when it comes to superheroes in general, there is hardly anything more iconic than the Man of Steel. But while Dean Cain's portrayal of the Man of Steel in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman is widely considered one of the best, but it wasn't the one that “broke the internet” before it even went viral. Cain's co-star Teri Hatcher earned that honor when she posed for a photo wearing only Superman's red cape, and decades later, she looks back on that “conjuring” moment.

When you think back to Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher's '90s superhero drama, which ran for four seasons on ABC, it wouldn't be surprising if the famous image of Hatcher comes to mind – the slight smile on her face as her straight black hair falls to her shoulders, the cape with the iconic “S” draped low around her shoulders so nothing can be seen underneath. There's no getting around it: The image is hot. In conversation with The GuardianThe actress recalled how the picture was taken and said:

I broke the Internet when we had dial-up. I don't take credit for being so fabulous. I remember the photo shoot to promote the TV show. It took all day. I wore a white blouse and pencil skirt because Lois is a reporter for the Daily Planet, and I had the cape wrapped over it. It wasn't until the last shot of the day that someone said, “Could we try the cape without the blouse?” I thought, “What's that supposed to mean? Why would Lois Lane be naked under the cape?” We did it for fun, but the result was impressive. Now that I'm so much older, I'm still proud of it.
