Woman arrested in connection with Nampa murder in 2022

The Canyon County Sheriff's Office told KTVB that Olivia Hernandez was arrested in Texas in connection with the murder of 20-year-old Issac Bernal.

BOISE, Idaho – A woman has been arrested in connection with the murder of 20-year-old Issac Bernal, which occurred in Nampa in November 2022.

The Canyon County Sheriff's Office told KTVB that 41-year-old Olivia Hernandez was arrested in Potter County, Texas, in connection with Bernal's murder. She was extradited to Idaho and is in police custody.

As previously reported, on November 26, 2023, police were called to a location near 17000 N. Pegram Way in Nampa around 11:30 p.m. for a shooting. According to a Nampa Police press release, upon arrival, officers found a 20-year-old man who had been shot.

Police said officers provided medical assistance, but the man died at the scene.

Days later, the Ada County Coroner's Office identified the man as Bernal; he died from the gunshot wound.

According to the Canyon County Sheriff's Office, Hernandez is charged with aiding and abetting murder and aiding and abetting a crime.

The case is still under investigation.
