Snakes are one of the most fascinating and feared creatures. Numerous videos of these reptiles have surfaced on the internet, leaving users both baffled and fascinated. The latest viral sensation is a vine snake known for its inconspicuous appearance. The green vine snake, also known as the common vine snake, is the most widespread species of the genus Ahaetulla in India, especially in the Western Ghats and other parts of the peninsula and northern India.

This snake is easily recognized by its slender, elongated body, green back coloration and characteristic leaf- or arrow-like head with a very pointed snout.

The viral footage shared on Instagram by wildlife photographer Ishan Shanavas shows a liana snake beautifully camouflaged in its surroundings. In the video, Shanavas begins by saying, “So here I have one of the most camouflaged and beautiful snakes in the Western Ghats. This is my personal favorite.” As the camera pans across the dense green foliage, Shanavas adds, “If you look from a distance, you might not be able to see anything. But if you look closely and zoom in, you can see a beautiful green liana snake perched ever so carefully on this plant.”

“Forest snakes are some of the coolest snakes in India. They are my personal favorite and this video should show you why. I mean, look at that camouflage! Thanks to Daimler for spotting this and shooting this video!” Shanavas wrote in the caption.
