First official iPhone 16 image leaked on Reddit, phone spotted in two color options

The first official image of the upcoming iPhone 16 has surfaced on Reddit, offering Apple fans their first look at the next version of the iconic smartphone. With the iPhone 16 series launch expected in less than a month, the leak has generated considerable excitement and given fans a taste of what Apple might have in store.

The leaked image was shared by a Reddit user named Kaxeno (u/kaxeno5). According to the post, the image appears to be a dummy device that shows the iPhone 16 in two color options: black and white. The rear design of the phone has some interesting changes, especially in the camera section. Unlike the iPhone 15, which has a diagonal camera, the iPhone 16 is seen with a vertically aligned dual rear camera system. The pill-shaped camera module is reminiscent of the iPhone X, but it has a significant upgrade – it is said to support spatial video recording. This feature is currently only available on the Pro models of the iPhone 15 series, suggesting that Apple may equip its standard models with some high-end features.

One noticeable design change is the repositioning of the flash. On the iPhone 16, the flash has been moved from the main camera island to the right side of the back and now sits flush with the surface. This subtle design change is consistent with previous leaks and suggests that Apple is focusing on refining the aesthetics of its new devices.

In addition to the black and white color options seen in the leak, the iPhone 16 is also rumored to come in a range of other shades, including blue, green, and pink. Apple is reportedly opting for more saturated colors this year, possibly to appeal to a wider audience.

As for the specifications, the iPhone 16 is expected to feature a 6.1-inch OLED display that offers vibrant colors and deep contrast. There are also speculations that the phone could include an Action button, a feature that is currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. This button could provide users with quick access to various functions, thus improving the overall user experience.

Under the hood, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will likely be powered by the A18 Bionic chip, which is built on TSMC's advanced 3nm process and promises significant performance and efficiency improvements. The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are expected to run on the more powerful A18 Pro chip, appealing to users looking for top-notch performance.
