Way was arrested and charged along with Brandon Kyle Pierce after police found meth during a search of Pierce's home at 1208 NW Bell.

Investigators said they seized over 1 pound of meth and several items of paraphernalia, including digital scales, spoons and syringes with meth residue. A gun and a large amount of money were also discovered.

Pierce admitted to selling and using meth. He said he was fine with it but recently started using it again, the affidavit states. He admitted that his text message logs showed drug deals and was arrested.

Police arranged a drug deal for that afternoon using Pierce's phone and address. A silver SUV arrived with Way, who was carrying a large white bag, according to the affidavit. When he knocked on the door, detectives approached him. When asked to show his hands, Way threw the bag, along with his keys, over the bushes into the neighbor's yard before being taken into custody.

A sniffer dog sniffed the SUV and detected drugs. After police obtained a search warrant, they found a Glock 43 with a drum magazine. The total weight of the meth found in the white bag was 2.35 pounds, the affidavit states.

According to records, Way has previously been convicted of a felony: in September 2008 in Tulsa County for robbery with a firearm, in September 2016 in Pittsburg County for trafficking in illegal drugs, in January 2017 in Garfield County for meth distribution, and in August 2017 in Logan County for possession of meth while incarcerated in a correctional facility.

Pierce, 45, of Lawton, was charged with five felony counts: possession of a controlled drug with intent to resell, maintaining a place to store/sell drugs, unauthorized use of a communication facility, receiving proceeds of drug activity and possession of a firearm after a prior felony conviction; he also faces a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, records show.

According to records, Pierce is scheduled to enter a guilty plea and his sentence will be announced at 9:30 a.m. on August 27.

Way has been held at the Comanche County Detention Center on $200,000 bail since his first court date in May 2022.

Following a pre-sentence investigation, Way will be sentenced at 10 a.m. on October 2.
