The Fulton Professional Firefighters Local 2945 hosts their annual golf tournament in September.

Golfers will tee off at 10:00 a.m. on September 13 at Tanglewood Golf Course, 818 Golf Drive.

Chamber of Commerce celebrates the success of Local Lemon

The Local Lemon’s lemonade stands reported successful sales on August 3rd.

Hosted by the Callaway Chamber of Commerce, The Local Lemon is an annual week-long program supporting young local entrepreneurs.

Tuesday

Callaway County resident finds dirt bike stolen nearly 30 years ago

After nearly 30 years, a Callaway County resident got his Kawasaki dirt bike back after it was stolen in 1995.

A press release from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office states that a victim from Callaway County contacted the Property Crimes Detective Unit on August 5 regarding his stolen dirt bike.

A permit is required for bow hunting on municipal land. Information event planned.

Anyone interested in bowhunting on City of Fulton property must attend a permit meeting on August 28.

The meet begins on August 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Legends Rec-Plex Center, 808 State St.

Fulton City Council to introduce three ordinance proposals

The Fulton City Council will introduce three proposed ordinances at its meeting today.

The first proposed regulation, House Bill 1720, would repeal an emergency vehicle agreement between local fire protection districts and the Fulton Fire Department.

Callaway Chamber of Commerce Hosts August Community Update

The Callaway Chamber of Commerce hosted its August Community Update, where community leaders from across Callaway County were able to provide updates on events and activities.

Steve Pankey, director of satellite campuses at Ranken Technical College, announced that classes for the fall semester will begin on August 26 at the Ashland campus.

Man faces 15 felony charges after domestic altercation near New Bloomfield

A Poplar Bluff man faces 15 felony charges following a domestic altercation outside New Bloomfield on Thursday.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim called 911 around 7:17 p.m. Thursday to report that Lonnie Moss, 29, of Poplar Bluff, had attacked her in a white Dodge Challenger.

MDC offers a workshop on controlled fire protection in Portland

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites the public to attend a workshop on forest and wildlife management in Portland.

The press release states that the workshop will take place in Portland on September 7th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Man suffers moderate injuries in car accident

A man suffered moderate injuries after a car crash on Interstate 70 Tuesday morning.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, 22-year-old Ndayambaje Ndori of Columbia was driving his 2010 Honda Civic eastbound near mile marker 144 on I-70 around 6:10 a.m. Tuesday.

Local VFW hosts third annual Testicle Festival

VFW Post 2657 will host Fulton's third annual Testicle Festival in late August.

The festival kicks off at 1 p.m. on August 24 with live music at 505 Collier Lane in Fulton. Those Guys, a local band, will perform from 1 to 5 p.m.

Seniors Exhibition provides services and information for over 30 local organizations

The Callaway County YMCA hosted a senior citizen expo in its gymnasium Wednesday morning with participation from over 30 local organizations.

Each organization offered resources to seniors in the community.

Holts Summit provides ARPA funds to modernize police and municipal buildings

HOLTS SUMMIT – The Holts Summit City Council passed a resolution during Tuesday’s meeting allowing City Manager Brandon Ruediger to use American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

The funds will be used to modernize Holts Summit's police and municipal buildings.

Fulton Public Schools receive awards for positive behavior promotion

The Fulton School District 58 Board of Education recognized four schools that received awards for excellence in positive behavior education during Wednesday's council meeting.

Four FPS schools were recognized for their exemplary implementation of positive behavior support during the Missouri School-Wide Positive Behavior Support Summer Institute in June.

WeBUILT Something More receives $50,000 grant from Callaway County Special Services

WeBUILT Something More received a $50,000 grant from Callaway County Special Services, it was announced in a press release Thursday.

The funds will be used to build accessible ramps, walkways and parking spaces in the WeBUILT community.
