BALTIMORE, MD – Total employment in Maryland grew at twice the national average in July 2024 compared to June 2024, according to a press release from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Maryland added a total of 6,100 new jobs in July 2024, including 5,300 in the private sector. The state's job growth rate of 1.2 percent through the first seven months of 2024 exceeds the national average of 0.9 percent.
