Anita Rose was described by her family as “well known and loved in the community.”

Police investigating the murder of a woman more than three weeks ago have released pictures of her missing jacket and phone case.

Anita Rose, 57, from Brantham in Suffolk, was walking her dog in the village on July 24 when she was attacked. She died in hospital four days later.

Suffolk Police said the unexplained items may contain “important information or evidence” that could help solve the case.

Three people were arrested and released on bail in connection with the attack, two of them on suspicion of murder and one on suspicion of receiving stolen goods.

According to police, Ms Rose left her home at 05:00 (CEST) to take her springer spaniel Bruce for her usual walk in the area.

At around 6.25am, Ms Rose was found lying unconscious on a track near the sewage treatment plant and the railway line, off Rectory Lane.

An ambulance was called and she was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge with a serious head injury. She died on July 28.

An autopsy could not determine a cause of death and police said further tests would be conducted.

Police said her missing jacket, a pink Regatta Calderdale II zip-up waterproof jacket, was from the Autumn-Winter 2017 collection in the colour Duchess Dark Cerise.

They said her Apple iPhone had been found, but her phone case, a black quilted wallet-style case with a gold crown and stud details, was still missing.

Det Supt Mike Brown said: “This update is the result of continued engagement with Anita's family, who helped us identify the make and model of the jacket and also provided us with an image of Anita's phone case.”

“We remain convinced that these missing items may contain important information or evidence for the investigation and ask anyone with information to come forward.”
