Jürgen Klopp takes on his first job since leaving Liverpool and returns to “management”

Jürgen Klopp is taking a break from coaching after leaving Liverpool, but will soon return.

Jürgen Klopp has taken on his first coaching job since leaving Liverpool at the end of last season.

After nine years in office, Klopp resigned as Liverpool head coach at the end of last season because he had “run out of energy”.

After his final game as Wolves manager in May, he had an emotional farewell and was replaced by Arne Slot at Anfield.

Klopp is currently taking an extended break from football, and although he has been in talks to work for the USMNT and the England national team, he is not expected to return for a permanent position any time soon.

The German spent some time in a villa in Mallorca, but reports say he is set to make a surprise comeback to the coaching bench.

On September 7, Borussia Dortmund will host a testimonial match for the Polish duo Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski.

A special tribute match will be played at Signal Iduna Park in honour of the Dortmund legends and Klopp, who won two Bundesliga titles with them, has been nominated for it.

Dortmund published a funny sketch on its Instagram page confirming Klopp's participation.

Piszczek told his compatriot: “We need a coach and I have an idea. We will call the retired coach.”

Then Klopp appeared on the phone wearing sunglasses and in his usual comedic manner and said: “Finally you have your farewell game. Oh my God. And you want to train before the game. Are you stupid?!”.

Piszczek then brought up the fact that it was still a question of which team Klopp would coach, but the 57-year-old did not seem to be bothered by this in the slightest.

He admits: “I don't care at all. I don't think about it at all. I do it like I used to, I start thinking about it five minutes before. Is the game sold out? I would buy a ticket anyway if I didn't come!”
