Lexington police investigate early morning shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Lexington Police are investigating a shooting that occurred overnight in the 300 block of West Short Street.

Police say they were called to the scene at around 1:57 a.m. due to a disturbance and when they arrived they found a male victim with a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives continue to investigate the incident and are asking residents and businesses in the area to check their security cameras and contact Lexington Police if they have footage that may assist in the investigation.
