PGO opens proceedings over video allegedly showing severed head of Ukrainian soldier

The Prosecutor General's Office announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

“On August 16, a video was published on social media showing representatives of the Russian Armed Forces showing the severed head of a Ukrainian soldier impaled on a stake. As part of the investigation, law enforcement officials are conducting urgent investigative measures to verify this information and the circumstances surrounding it,” the statement said.

Investigators from the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine are conducting the preliminary investigation.

Previously, a video appeared on social media showing the severed head of a suspected Ukrainian soldier.
