Woman injured in highway accident in Maine

A woman fell asleep and caused an accident with her delivery truck on I-95 in Sidney

A woman was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after crashing her pickup truck on Interstate 95 in Sidney Friday afternoon. State police responded to calls about a pickup truck driving erratically on the northbound side of the highway, but before they could catch the woman, Ashley Peters, 42, of Ellsworth, crashed into a tree in the median at mile marker 118. Police believe she fell asleep at the wheel. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

A woman was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after she crashed her box truck on Interstate 95 in Sidney Friday afternoon.

State police responded to calls about a box truck driving erratically on the northbound side of the highway, but before they could intercept the woman, Ashley Peters, 42, of Ellsworth, crashed into a tree on the median road at mile marker 118.

The police assume that she fell asleep at the wheel. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
