Beauty queen and contract killer Lindsay Shiver makes new, sensational allegations

A beauty queen accused of hiring a hitman to kill her estranged husband claims her boyfriend tried to suffocate her with a pillow.

Lindsay Shiver and her then-boyfriend Terrance Adrien Bethel, 28, are accused of murdering former NFL player Robert Shiver with the help of contract killer Faron Newbold, 29.

She had been held in the Bahamas since her arrest last July, but in December a judge ruled that she could return to the United States for the holidays to see her three children.

Shiver found a new boyfriend in Alabama, Dorsey Ryan Love (35), after she was allowed to return to the United States and the trial was postponed indefinitely; the next court date is not until October.

However, she claimed that this relationship also ended badly when Love threw her on a bed on July 25 and threatened to kill her.

Love was arrested on July 31 in Dothan, Alabama, and charged with strangulation. He also faces three previous unrelated charges, including identity theft.

Shiver claimed he threw her on the bed at the home on Cherokee Avenue in Dothan, then choked her and placed a pillow over her face to suffocate her.

She also filed a restraining order against Love on July 29, detailing the alleged assault and claiming he abused her while on vacation in Tampa, Florida, without her reporting it to police at the time.

“He threatened to kill me,” she claimed.

A judge in the Bahamas allowed Lindsay to return to the United States on December 21 under certain conditions.

She is prohibited from coming within 100 feet of her former husband, an NFL player, must remain in the state of Alabama and has been fitted with an electronic monitoring device.

The mother of three children is only allowed to return to Georgia, where her husband lives, for the divorce or custody proceedings.

She claimed that Robert had granted her visitation rights to her children and accused him of later denying her access.

Shiver is accused of conspiring with her former bartender lover Bethel to frame Newbold for the murder of her husband.

Prosecutors said the trio discussed the murder attempt over WhatsApp before Shiver sent Newbold a photo of Robert, who filed for divorce last April, along with instructions: “Kill him.”

Documents obtained by DailyMail.com show that Shiver suffered a breakdown during her police interview and allegedly confessed to sending photos and messages to Newbold instructing him to murder her husband of 13 years.

The photos, obtained by DailyMail.com, show Robert cuddling with a mysterious blonde in a bar in the Bahamas.

The alleged murder plot was uncovered by chance when police began investigating a break-in at Grabbers, a popular waterfront bar on Great Guana Cay.

They asked staff – including Bethel – to hand over their phones for inspection and found WhatsApp messages in which he, Shiver and Newbold allegedly discussed killing Robert, who was visiting his family home in nearby Baker's Bay.

“This n***a broke into Lindsay's house, wouldn't let her on the plane, and touched her. Because of this n***a, I'm coming out of retirement soon,” Bethel is said to have written to his childhood friend.

“He's flying to Baker's Bay, she's considering letting me kill him, but he has the kids.”

Police arrested Shiver on July 21, examined her iPhone and allegedly found that she had sent Newbold “several pictures” of her husband along with a text message that read, “Kill him.”

The trio were arrested and further incriminating messages were found on their devices, according to a well-informed source.

Robert was on vacation independently from his estranged wife when police contacted him to warn him of the plot.

When Bahamian authorities informed him of the alleged threat, he called his wife a “manipulator” and speculated why she might want him out of the way.

“She had an affair with an 18-year-old about a year ago, came to Abaco and smuggled him into my house in Abaco,” he said in his statement.

“I found out about it through her Apple Watch and she convinced me that she wanted to start a family, so we tried to make it happen.”

The marriage finally fell apart when he learned of his wife's relationship with Bethell in February, Robert said.

Lindsay claims she was only allowed to speak to her children once via FaceTime on Christmas Day, but has not been able to reach them since.

He accused his wife of drinking, making “bad decisions” and getting into “unpleasant” new circles.

Robert also said he was “afraid for his life” and flew back to the USA with the children shortly afterwards.

He is currently dating 26-year-old reality star Savannah Chrisley, who confirmed their relationship on her Instagram.

His family owns a property in the exclusive Baker's Bay, a members-only golf resort where A-list celebrities such as Michael Jordan, Justin Timberlake and Tom Brady own sprawling coastal mansions.

However, they stripped Shiver of access to the family's luxurious residence and private jet in April after Robert learned of her affair with Bethel and filed for divorce, finding fault with his wife's “adulterous behavior.”

Shiver fired back with a countersuit, accusing Robert of domestic violence and claiming that any “extramarital relationship” occurred after the separation.

Shiver, a native of Alabama, graduated from Auburn University, where the two met in 2007 when Robert was captain of the football team.

Robert signed as a free agent with the Atlanta Falcons, but was released during roster cuts before the 2009 season and eventually became Executive Vice President of Senior Life Insurance Company.

In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com in August, Bethel confessed his love to Shiver and said their marriage had been in crisis long before he showed up.

“None of us have anything to hide. People take everything at face value and defame us,” he said.
