15-year-old in hospital after shooting in Old Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a teenager was shot in Old Louisville early Saturday morning.

At around 3:35 a.m., police were called to the area of ​​South 1st Street and Burnett Avenue for a report of a shooting. LMPD said they found a man who claimed he shot some teenagers after they tried to break into a car.

Police said they found a 15-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the leg a short time later in nearby College Court. He was taken to UofL Hospital and is expected to survive.

The LMPD said the man who shot the teens has not been arrested and is continuing to cooperate with investigators.
