What happened to Danilo? Latest information on the Nottingham Forest player's injury

In the first half of the game against Bournemouth, Danilo suffered what appeared to be a serious ankle injury.

In the harmless incident, which occurred in the sixth minute, the 23-year-old jumped for a header with Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo and landed seemingly awkwardly, with his ankle giving way beneath him.

Gibbs-White, the Forest captain, was immediately concerned and protective screens were put in place to shield Danilo while he received treatment on the pitch.

He was eventually stretchered off the pitch and replaced by Ryan Yates. There were approximately 12 minutes of stoppage time at the end of the half to make up for the long delay.

What injury did Danilo suffer and how long will he be out?

It was not entirely clear what the exact nature of Danilo's injury was. The club will likely provide an update once further medical examinations have been carried out and coach Nuno Espirito Santo will also speak about it after the game.
