Creepy video shows a woman strolling home from the grocery store with her boyfriend just minutes before her terrible fate befalls her

Eerie surveillance footage shows a 26-year-old man allegedly confessing to the brutal murder of his girlfriend, who was visiting from Hawaii, and his victim walking home with groceries in hand.

Andy Chu allegedly choked his 25-year-old girlfriend Zoey Suyun He, twisted her neck and held her underwater in a bathtub after he got high on molly, prosecutors said, local news outlet KHON News reported.

The young woman's battered body was found after a neighbor called the landlord because he saw water pouring out of Chu's apartment. When Seattle police and firefighters arrived, they made a gruesome discovery.

On August 10, Chu was captured on video leaving a townhouse in the Olympic Hills neighborhood of Lake City in the 3000 block of Northeast 133rd Street.

He was taken to UW Medical Center by friends after he began acting “erratically.” At the hospital, he allegedly attacked a nurse and was arrested. King County prosecutors charged Chu after she told police investigators he “may have been responsible for her death.” He was later charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault.

The victim, Zoey Suyun He, 25, had just arrived from Hawaii to see Chu. The couple had been together since January and attended the same high school

Court documents reveal the horrifying details that led to the barbaric attack.

An alert neighbor filmed Chu with his Ring camera, which he gave to Seattle police. The camera showed the timestamp of the couple entering the apartment on August 9, NorthWest Asian Weekly reported.

The man told investigators that they had groceries with them and that he saw Chu leave the apartment alone the next morning.

When police and firefighters arrived, they found a bathtub full of water and a sink in the bathroom overflowing with water.

She was found lying on her back with a cut on her neck and “an ice pack on her neck.” Officials said there was also a small ice pack behind her neck supporting her head.

They also noted that there was “no shower head on the pipe.”

Authorities said Chu told police he had “a memory” of choking her, twisting her neck and holding her underwater in the tub. Police allege he said he thought he had broken her neck and “remembered the bleeding from her nose, which he wiped away.”

Chu also admitted to taking two Molly pills and smoking weed while with his girlfriend, Fox13 Seattle reported.

According to reports, He and Chu graduated from the same high school – President William McKinley High School. He attended it from 2012 to 2016.

The young woman from Shanghai, China, studied at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and lived in Honolulu.

According to the House Communications Office, she worked at the Hawaii State Capitol during the 2022 legislative session.

He told the detective that he started dating her in January and that she had just arrived in Seattle from Hawaii.

Devastated friends described her as a “good friend and daughter” who loved makeup and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Friends believe he may have gone to Seattle to visit Chu, as August 10 is Valentine's Day in China, called Qixi Festival, a celebration of love and romance in Chinese culture.

An autopsy found blunt force trauma to her face, head, neck, chest, arms and legs, and “found a large, heavy white ball lodged in her throat at the base of her tongue,” the news agency said.

Chu is being held on $5 million bail. It is unclear if he has yet entered a guilty plea at this time.
