Death investigation underway in Defiance

DEFIANCE, Ohio (WPTA) – The city of Defiance says a death investigation is underway after a teenager was found dead Friday night from an apparent gunshot wound.

According to the City of Defiance, the Defiance Police Department responded to a report of a dead man lying under the Hopkins Street Bridge, near Auglaize Street, around 10 p.m.

When police arrived on scene, they found an unconscious man and requested that the Defiance Fire Department also rush to the scene.

At the scene, the unresponsive man, identified as 18-year-old Liam Bouldrey of Defiance, was found dead and had an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

Defiance Police were assisted at the scene by the Defiance Fire Department, the Defiance County Coroner's Office and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Bouldrey's death remains under investigation.
