NBA YoungBoy's career has been turbulent after his initial rise. Although the popular Louisiana rapper is revered by his fans as one of the best artists of his generation, his legal troubles have hampered his development and made it difficult for him to reach the heights he wanted to achieve.

There was more bad news for the “Make No Sense” rapper on Friday (August 16). A report from WAFB 9 stated, “Rapper NBA Youngboy intends to plead guilty and move his gun trial in Baton Rouge federal court to Utah for further proceedings. Defense attorney Drew Findling filed the necessary paperwork earlier this week for the rapper, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden.”

Breaking down the charges, they stated, “Gaulden is charged with one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon stemming from the filming of a music video in 2020 in Baton Rouge.” This news comes after NBA YoungBoy was relocated to Utah during his trial to escape his hometown.

While NBA YoungBoy and his colleagues were battling gun charges in Baton Rouge, they were reportedly accused of running a large-scale drug ring from several pharmacies in Utah.

NBA YoungBoy is known by many for his battle-hardened tracks and undeniable work ethic. He has collaborated with top rappers such as Lil Yachty, Shy Glizzy, Young Thug, Migos, DaBaby, Nicki Minaj, and many more. Although he has kept up with some of the best bar for bar, he has also been a controversial subject among other MCs. Artists such as Lil Durk, J. Cole, and more have feuded with the talented bar spitter on wax.

Since he has several children, including one with Floyd Mayweather's daughter, it would be a shame to see him separated from his family. It is unclear how much time he will have to serve if he formally pleads guilty in his federal case.
