Russian troops accused of atrocity after nasty clip emerges | World | News

Russian troops have released a gruesome new video showing the severed head of a Ukrainian soldier impaled on a pole.

The sick video was shared by the Russian pro-war channel Troika on Telegram and has caused outrage in Ukraine.

In the short video clip, a Russian soldier stands in front of a camera, his face covered with a scarf.

The soldier identifies his unit as the 155th Guards Brigade, a brigade formation of the Russian Marines that is part of the Pacific Fleet.

Behind him is a pole on which the severed head of a Ukrainian soldier is impaled.

The Russian soldier says: “The dead of the 155th Brigade of the Pacific Fleet greet you, 'Khokhly'.”

“You have made an unforgivable mistake by setting your filthy pig hooves on our sacred land.

“Today, some of you were completely overwhelmed by our attack.” He points to the severed head and adds: “This will happen every time we meet.”

The word “Khokhly” is a derogatory term used by Russians for Ukrainians.

Analysts at Deepstate, a Ukrainian website that monitors the war, claim the video was shot at the Kolotilovka checkpoint in Russia's Belgorod region.

On August 12, Ukrainian forces attempted to cross the border here to capture more Russian territory.

The 155th Guards Brigade is accused of committing war crimes during the war.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, the unit was involved in the killing of civilians in Bucha, Irpen and Gostomel.

The video sparked an angry reaction in Ukraine, which filed complaints with the United Nations and the International Red Cross.

Human Rights Commissioner Dmitry Lubinez said: “The enemy uses such videos to intimidate and demoralize Ukrainians.”

“However, this only strengthens our commitment to hold everyone who commits such inhumane atrocities to inevitable accountability!”
