According to Wildwood Crest Police, one of their officers conducted a vehicle stop shortly after 3:00 a.m. on Friday, August 16, in the area of Denver Road and Atlantic Avenue.

During the stop, the officer developed reasonable suspicion that there was evidence of a criminal act in the vehicle and deployed a sniffer dog to sniff the outside of the vehicle.

Authorities said the sniffer dog “provided a clear indication of the presence of a narcotic odor in the vehicle and initiated a search.” They found suspected commercial quantities of cocaine, Xanax and ecstasy, as well as trafficking-related paraphernalia and cash believed to be proceeds from the illegal drug trade.
