1 man dies in tanker truck accident in Autauga County

AUTAUGA COUNTY, Alabama (WSFA) – An Autaugaville man was killed in a tanker truck accident on Alabama 14, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

The two-vehicle crash occurred shortly before midnight Friday about five miles west of Prattville when the tanker truck was struck head-on by a vehicle driven by Karlos D. Golson Jr., 33, of Autaugaville.

The tanker truck caught fire as a result of the accident and burst into flames. The driver of the truck was able to escape from the vehicle without injury before it caught fire.

Golson, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was found unconscious and pronounced dead at the scene.

No further information is available as ALEA forces continue their investigation.
