Belleville man charged with murder of 66-year-old

WASHINGTON PARK – A Belleville man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of Leon Richardson of Washington Park.

Vincent E. Brown, 61, was arrested Thursday after a traffic stop in Madison, Illinois State Police said. He is accused of shooting Richardson, 66, on Aug. 11 in the 5000 block of North Park Drive in Washington Park.

Brown is being held in the St. Clair County Jail, police said.
