The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline at the pump in San Diego County fell three-tenths of a cent today to $4.675.

The average price is two-tenths of a cent lower than a week ago, 11.5 cents lower than a month ago and 56.8 cents lower than a year ago, according to figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. The price has fallen by $1.76 since its record high of $6.435 on October 5, 2022.

The national average price fell 1.2 cents to $3.421. That's 2.9 cents less than a week ago, 9.1 cents less than a month ago and 45.4 cents less than a year ago. The national average price has fallen $1.595 since rising to a record high of $5.016 on June 14, 2022.

“Summer is coming to an end, and so far gas prices have barely budged,” said Andrew Gross, national public relations manager for AAA. “But hurricane season still has a long way to go, so it's too early to say pump prices have begun their usual fall slump.”
