Robbery suspect in elf costume arrested after domestic violence incident

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Randall Lloyd, 29, was arrested in connection with the tobacco store robbery last December.

In December 2023, Gainesville Police officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in which a masked man dressed in an elf onesie stole approximately $700 in cash and $200 worth of THC products.

On Wednesday, GPD officers arrived at the Georgetown Apartments after receiving a domestic violence call.

The victim's mother gave officers an elf onesie and a pellet gun that belonged to Lloyd and was identical to the one seen on Smoke City surveillance video.

After a witness was shown still images from the tobacco shop's surveillance footage, a backpack belonging to Lloyd was produced that was identical to the images.

After his arrest, Lloyd denied any involvement in the robbery.

Lloyd is currently being held in the Alachua County Jail.
