Kassab died while riding a motorcycle through the coastal city of Tyre, the Times of Israel reported.

Hezbollah did not disclose Kassab’s position or rank.

The Israeli military said Kassab's death was the 412th killing of a Hezbollah member since October 7.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah fired 55 rockets into northern Israel on Saturday in response to a deadly Israeli airstrike that killed 10 people overnight near the town of Nabatieth in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli military said some of the Hezbollah rockets hit open areas, while others sparked numerous fires.

No injuries were reported.

The rockets were fired in retaliation for an Israeli attack that destroyed a Hezbollah weapons depot and other buildings used by the terrorist group.

Ten Syrian nationals were killed and five others injured in the Israeli attack.

This is the deadliest attack on Hezbollah since Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7.

A separate Hezbollah drone attack wounded two IDF soldiers near the northern community of Misgav Am on Saturday.

Meanwhile, mediators continue to seek agreement on a ceasefire. A Biden administration official said Friday's negotiations were the most constructive in months.

President Joe Biden commented on the proposal, saying it “provides the basis for a final agreement on a ceasefire and the release of the hostages.”

However, Hamas officials said there had been no progress in ongoing negotiations, which will resume next week.
