Many Jeep owners help children fight cancer through a fundraiser that raises over $130,000

NORTH PEKIN (25News Now) – It's back and bigger than ever for its fifth year: 196 Jeep owners drove through central Illinois to raise money for St. Jude for the Jeep Creep.

Drivers have signed up to drive on a loop throughout the afternoon from the Uftring Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in North Pekin to various locations in Central Illinois.

The riders then arrived at the Countryside Banquet Center in Washington, where there was food, music, prizes and a silent auction.

Event co-founder and dealership general manager Ian Lott said he was grateful to the sponsors and donors who made it possible, such as Cox Automotive and Heart Technologies.

“This is the biggest turnout we've ever had. Last year I think we had 179 Jeeps and raised $150,000,” Lott said. “This year we had 196 cars – it's still going strong and growing!”

The organization has raised over $130,000 to date.
