1 dead, 3 in hospital after Fort Lauderdale shooting – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) – A shooting in a Fort Lauderdale neighborhood left one person dead and three others hospitalized, police said.

Fort Lauderdale Police and Fire Department units arrived at the scene of the triple shooting in the 600 block of Cypress Creek Road around 5:05 a.m. Saturday.

7News cameras captured a bullet-riddled black Honda Civic and several evidence markers lying on the ground as police dogs and officers surrounded the busy road.

“When you leave the house, you never know if you'll ever come back,” said a man who lives in the area. “It's pretty dangerous here sometimes.”

Investigators said when emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found three men with gunshot wounds inside the bullet-riddled Civic.

Paramedics took all three men to Broward Health Medical Center, where one of them was pronounced dead.

Investigators said a fourth victim, who was not hit by gunfire, was also taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The neighbors were in shock.

“I wish this wouldn’t happen again,” the resident told 7News.

The police have not released the identities of the victims or provided any information on the condition of the surviving victims. The search for the person or persons responsible continues.

If you have any information about this shooting or the whereabouts of the person(s), call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
