Steelers RB Jaylen Warren leaves the team due to thigh injury

The Steelers apparently plan to use Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren heavily in the offensive backfield this year, and Harris could get the most opportunities early in the season.

Warren left Saturday night's preseason game in the second quarter with a hamstring injury. doubtful whether it will returnHe is certainly finished for tonight; the question is how much time he will miss.

The hamstrings need rest, otherwise they will continue to overstretch. In Warren's case, the extent of the absence depends on the extent of the muscle injury.

Warren, who was not drafted in 2022, rushed for 784 yards in 2023, averaging 5.3 yards per carry. He seems to have much more momentum and acceleration after receiving the ball than Harris, who thrives on pushing every run down to the last blade of grass.

Cordarrelle Patterson is the next man on the list behind Warren. It remains to be seen if Warren's call goes to Patterson or if the Steelers will use multiple running backs.
