The drama and saga surrounding the killing of NIU police officers in Durban that is currently unfolding has turned social media upside down.

SAPS Minister Bheki Cele recently made headlines when he was at loggerheads with famous Ukhozi FM DJ Zimiphi “Zimdollar” Biyela over an inconsiderate statement she made live on the radio two weeks ago.

Police Minister Bheki Cele called on the SABC to take action against Ukhozi FM radio presenter Zimiphi “Zimdollar” Biyela, who last month publicly accused members of the National Intervention Unit (NIU) of unjustly killing men they said were her brothers in a village near eMpangeni.

Not long ago, during a memorial service in Durban, Bheki Cele decided to speak out about what was bothering him so much. The minister lashed out, claiming that Zimdollar had allegedly called for the killing of the NIU colleague.

Speaking at the funeral of Warrant Officer Sithembiso Mazibuko, who was gunned down in Ntuzuma district, the radio DJ said he should be happy that the NIU officer was murdered and said it was all her fault since she made a comment about NIU officers on her radio show.
