3 people, including children, injured after police chase in Gloucester County ends in crash; man in custody

GLOUCESTER CITY, New Jersey (WPVI) — A man is in custody after a police chase in South Jersey ended in a crash involving a stolen car on Saturday.

Several people, including small children, were injured in the collision.

According to authorities, Deptford Township police pursued a stolen vehicle into Gloucester City around 6 p.m.

The stolen vehicle reportedly collided with another car, which then crashed into a home in the 500 block of Morris Street.

According to police, an 8-year-old and a 7-year-old who were in the other car were seriously injured in the collision.

The driver of the car, a 24-year-old, suffered minor injuries, authorities said. The children and the driver were taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

According to investigators, the driver of the stolen car fled on foot but was arrested a short time later.

Joshua Chrismon, 32, of Mount Laurel, was charged with reckless endangerment, assault with a vehicle, resisting arrest, criminal damage to property and other related offenses.
