Fani Willis is accused of using the YSL case for fame

The ongoing YSL RICO litigation saga continues, and most recently, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is reportedly using the case to gain attention. According to BillboardCourtney Kramer – the Republican challenger for the office of DA – Willis used the case to “make herself famous.” In a statement from her campaign team on Friday (August 16), Kramer said she was “very concerned and disappointed” by the “lack of prosecutorial oversight.” Young Thug and his co-defendants have been on trial since November 2023.

“Over time, the public witnessed a trial that was undoubtedly over-drafted by attorneys who were repeatedly reprimanded for lack of trial preparation. A complete waste of the court's time,” the statement continued. Kramer says “endless taxpayer money” is being spent for nothing. Kramer said she will request that the prosecution be dropped if elected. “If I am elected the next Fulton County District Attorney, I pledge to immediately drop this prosecution,” she said.

The YSL Rico case full of twists and turns

“I urge my opponent to do the same, do the right thing and dismiss this proceeding. And release the defendant in this case, who is being held without bail.” Since the YSL RICO case began in November 2023, there have been many twists and turns. In July, newly appointed Judge Shukura L. Ingram had recused herself from the case. The Fulton County judge recused herself for impartiality reasons, as she had previously worked with the arrested ex-deputy in the case. Apparently, they had an inappropriate relationship with Young Thug's co-defendant Christian Eppingee, also known as Big Bhris.

The order recusing Judge Ingram was filed with the Fulton County Clerk's Office on Wednesday morning. It states: “Because the former Deputy of this Court may be called as a witness in future proceedings in this case, the Court may be required to evaluate the credibility of that Deputy or to rule on matters related to her prosecution. This could undermine public confidence in the impartiality of the proceedings.”
