Ariana Madix' brother Jeremy Madix arrested for drug trafficking

Jeremy Madix is in big trouble.

Jeremy, the 32-year-old brother of Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madixwas recently arrested at the airport for allegedly possessing suitcases full of marijuana.

According to Us Weekly, Jeremy was arrested at his home in Oceanside, California on July 10 and extradited to Orange County, Florida.

What's even stranger is that, according to TMZ, the drug incident took place back in February at Orlando International Airport in Florida. Jeremy and an accomplice were apparently about to board a flight to Frankfurt when the drugs were discovered in their luggage.

Police say Jeremy and his buddy, Jonah Ahad, allegedly had over 100 pounds of marijuana in their suitcases on February 16.

However, they failed to make it through security as Customs and Border Protection agents searched the duo's three suitcases, two of which belong to Jeremy and allegedly contained 64 bags of weed weighing 76 pounds.

According to police, Jeremy's accomplice had 31 bags of marijuana with a total weight of 16 kilograms in his luggage.

During their arrest, the two reportedly refused to speak to police because their lawyers were not present. For unknown reasons, they were not immediately arrested despite the large amount of drugs that were discovered.

However, warrants have now been issued for their arrests; Jonah was arrested in May and Jeremy was finally taken into custody last month.

We weekly states that a judge set Jeremy's bail at $80,000 and he has since been released despite being asked to surrender his passport.

Court documents show that Jeremy currently works at a vodka distillery and tasting room and lives in California with his fiancée Rachael. He is reportedly set to start classes at MiraCosta College on Monday, August 19.

Page Six reports that Jeremy has been charged with trafficking marijuana, which under Florida state law carries a maximum prison sentence of 30 years and a $200,000 fine.

Neither Ariana nor Jeremy have commented on his arrest yet.

As previously reported, Jeremy and 38-year-old Ariana appear to have become estranged, with Jeremy opening up about his falling out with his sister back in March and stating that he hasn't heard from Ariana in months.

“Why I didn't talk to my sister and why I didn't talk to Scandoval are two completely different things,” Jeremy told Us Weekly on March 29. “I just want to be clear that I didn't talk to my sister because I had to stand up for my fiancée.”

He continued, “There were some little microaggressive gestures towards my fiancée, and that's what led to me not speaking to my sister anymore. It's been going on for quite a while,” he claimed. “I think we just kind of let it slide because of course I'm always going to look out for my sister. But I've been put in a position where do I choose my sister or the person I'm going to spend the rest of my life with?”
