Kamala Harris is being criticized for her “most horrific” policies after a video emerged of her threatening to “take away her patents.”

A resurfaced video of Kamala Harris has sparked fierce reactions for the Democratic candidate after she promised to implement controversial policies.

Harris threatened to “snatch” pharmaceutical companies' patents in a 2019 speech to cut costs – and the clip sparked concern among voters on social media.

In her speech at a campaign rally in Iowa, Harris talked about how, as president, she would ensure that the government created a fair market.

She further stated that companies that did not comply would have federal funding cut to reduce drug prices.

“I'm going to take away their patent so we can take control,” she said in the resurfaced video.

A rally participant in the audience then asked: “Can we do that?”

“Yes, we can do that!” she replied.

“The question is, do you have the will to do it?

“I have the will to do it.”

“The scariest thing I’ve ever heard”

The clip is circulating on X, while critics accuse Harris of planning a “government takeover.”

“This is the scariest thing I have ever heard from a candidate for President of the United States,” wrote one X-user.

“Kamala Harris is bragging about nationalizing the private sector. She said she's going to 'snatch' the patents away from them.”

Kamala criticised for 'emotional reaction' after eating family pack of Doritos during Trump's victory – fans say it was 'understandable'

“She has the power to do that. If she lets the government steal intellectual property, she will let the government seize all property.”

“This is the real dictator in the making.”

“The party that fears a 'threat to our democracy' nominates a would-be tyrant,” criticized filmmaker Eric Abbenante in a post.

Kamala's legal background

Kamala's legal and political background spans decades.

Kamala Harris began her career as a district attorney in San Francisco in 1998 when District Attorney Terence Hallin recruited her. Since then, she has faced several controversial cases.

In 2004, Harris was involved in the shooting death of officer Isaac Espinoza. The 29-year-old San Francisco cop was riding in his unmarked vehicle with his partner when he flashed his headlights at a man named David Hill, Calm Matters reported.

Hill fired several shots from his AK-47 at the officers, killing Espinoza. When Hill was charged, Harris refused to sentence him to death, a decision for which she faced heavy criticism. Harris' decision to oppose the death penalty immediately made her appear as an anti-police prosecutor.

Since this case, Harris has positioned herself as a “progressive prosecutor.” However, many on the left accuse her of being too tough.

“I don't know what Harris could do to regain the trust of those who know full well how she – like every other prosecutor – has put people in prison and built her career on being tough on crime,” Wanda Bertram, communications strategist at the Prison Policy Initiative, told Vox.

“Well, this is crazy,” Texas Governor Greg Abbott responded to the video.

“Here's Kamala Harris, who in 2019, during her first campaign for president, said she would take away people's legally binding patents on their products or inventions and give them to governments,” wrote another X user.

“This woman is a communist through and through and this time she is trying with all her might to hide it.

“Don’t let someone like him ruin a capitalist country,” he added.

“SHE’S A MAD WOMAN”

The insults hurled at Harris were similar to those made by Donald Trump at his rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, where he criticized his rival in the upcoming presidential election.

He said Harris' plan to support the economy sounded “politically good” but was nevertheless “very dangerous” and “communist.”

“People say you shouldn't use curse words,” he said at the event in Wilkes-Barre.

“They say you shouldn't call people stupid, but they are stupid people. How else can you describe it?”

“She’s a crazy socialist,” he continued.

“That's the other thing. Please, sir, please don't call her a madwoman, but she is – she is a madwoman.”

“People say be nice. Have you heard them laugh? That's the laugh of a madman.”

“This is a madman’s joke,” he said.

The controversial video appeared a few days before the scheduled start of the Democratic Party Convention in Chicago.

And Trump and Harris are scheduled to face off in an ABC debate on September 10.
