Suspect hospitalized after police shooting in Weber County

ROY, Utah – One person is in the hospital after being shot by police officers in Weber County Saturday night.

A Roy Police spokesman said their officers were involved in a shooting near 5650 South and 2775 West around 7:30 p.m.

A suspect, a man, was shot by police and taken to hospital. His condition was not known as of Saturday evening.

None of the officers were injured. It is not yet known if the suspect shot at them or what led to the incident.

Videos from local residents (see above) show a large police presence with several armed officers and several gunshots can be heard.

The officers involved have since been placed on leave and the Weber Critical Incident Task Force is conducting an investigation.

Police said Saturday evening that 2800 West between 5650 South and 5720 South was closed due to the investigation.
