Truck driver from Jharkhand earns 1 million rupees a month as a YouTuber with cooking videos

Rajesh Rawani, a veteran truck driver who has been on India's roads for over two decades, has unexpectedly risen to online fame. His passion for cooking led him to start a YouTube channel called R Rajesh Vlogs, which now has over 1.86 million subscribers. Thanks to his online success, Rajesh was able to buy a new home.

In a recent interview, Rajesh talked about his finances and shared that he is currently building his first house. He also shared that he survived a serious accident in which he injured his hand but continued driving due to his family's needs and the ongoing house construction.

Speaking to Sidharth Kannan, Rajesh revealed that as a truck driver, he earns between Rs 25,000 and Rs 30,000 a month. However, as a YouTube influencer, his income fluctuates depending on the number of viewers and is usually between Rs 400,000 and Rs 500,000, with him earning Rs 100,000 in his best month.

Rajesh recalled his first viral video: “I posted a video with voiceover and people kept asking me to show my face. So my son made a video showing my face and it got 450,000 views in just one day.”

Rajesh credits his family for allowing him to juggle his job as a truck driver and his YouTube channel simultaneously. He also said that his father, who was also a driver, was the sole breadwinner of the family of five. Every month, his father would send Rs 500, which was often not enough, so the family had to rely on loans.

In his latest video, released on August 18 at 11:30 am, Rajesh talks about the floods in Bihar while driving to Guwahati and points out that he still has 850 km to reach his destination.
